During his career in government communications, Rob created and managed campaigns to promote significant programs and effect needed change through legislative reform.

He was an integral member of the team that positioned public health on the front line of disaster response, and guided the Florida Department of Health’s implementation an all-hazards approach to communications.

Rob’s immersion in highly visible communications efforts have made him a sought-after speaker on a wide range of topics including:

Career Achievements
  • Managed communications for Florida’s agency that coordinated response to and recovery from the devastating 2004 hurricane season; also served as strategic communications lead and interagency communications coordinator to support federal disaster response and recovery efforts
  • Headed external communications related to state employees for the Office of Governor Pataki during the response and recovery following the attacks of 9-11 and the anthrax attacks in New York State
  • Directed the development, implementation, drilling of, and updates to Florida’s public health all-hazards plan, smallpox vaccination campaign, and pandemic influenza communication plans, preparing the state’s public health infrastructure to respond to public health emergencies
  • Coordinated communications for the lead state agency during successful legislative campaigns to: reform the Growth Management Act to make growth pay for itself; reform the medical malpractice liability laws to preserve the availability of medical services; revise the formula for lottery game payouts; and raise additional funds for education

 

Personal

Rob, his wife Lisa and their three young sons live in Tallahassee. An active member of his community, he enjoys participating with his family in youth sports, golf, tennis, and the fishing opportunities the area has to offer.
